Sandhurst

York Town

According to The Times, Thursday May 13th, 1897, ‘The Duke and Duchess of Connaught yesterday afternoon opened a new drill-hall at York Town, which has been built for the Sandhurst company of the 1st V.B. Royal Berkshire Regiment. The Duke of Connaught expressed his pleasure at being present at the opening of such a fine drill-hall which he was sure would be of the greatest assistance to the company. A bazaar was afterwards held … in aid of the building fund.’
