The drill hall used by No. 8 Company 2nd Glamorganshire Artillery Volunteers and I Company, 2nd Volunteer Battalion was at Coity street

There are records of exhibitions in the 1950s, '60s and '70s in 1969 at the Old Drill Hall in Derwen Road as part of the Bridgend Festival and again as part of the town's own festivals.
Kelly, 1895, notes: 'The Drill Halls and headquarters of the No. 8 Company of the 2nd Glamorganshire Artillery Volunteers and of I Company, the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, Welsh Regiment, are in Coity street; both are substantial buildings, the former was erected in 1894 and the latter in 1892.'
